We headed to the Elbow Room Bar in Buckhead after reading about their Hail Mary on Thrillist.

While the bar itself left some to be desired (how do they still allow smoking in public places here?), the Hail Mary was indeed worth the trip.

If you’re a Bloody Mary enthusiast (and if you’re reading this site, chances are you might be), then Elbow Room is a must in Atlanta (after the Nook)!

While in Atlanta, we dined at Seasons 52 in Buckhead.

We had sampled the Bloody Mary (or so we thought) at Seasons 52 while in Phoenix earlier this spring and found it to be rather pedestrian. However, this menu listing caught our eye:

Seasons 52 Bloody Mary Nectar

We definitely didn’t remember a “Bloody Mary Nectar” being offered, so we decided we had to try it.

Bloody Mary Nectar Seasons 52

MIX:  House mix, made with crushed tomatoes and sriracha–plus gin! (so technically, a red snapper?)

FIXIN’S: Mint, sundried tomato

PRICE: $9.95

We were very glad we gave Seasons 52 a second chance. This one was excellent–very different, the perfect mixture of sweet and spicy and, of course, extremely fresh. We wish there was a Seasons 52 near us so we could have the Bloody Nectar more often. Be sure to give it a go if you find yourself in a Seasons 52!

While in Atlanta, I stopped at Del Frisco’s Grille for a Bloody Mary.

Although tasty, it was pretty run of the mill for a “southern” Bloody–and, at $9, definitely not worth the price.  The food here was much better.

Are you a fan of Yelp?  I find it to usually be a reliable source of information on bars & restaurants in a particular area.

On this given day, I found the Bucket Shop Cafe listed as a good Bloody Mary within walking distance of my locale.

I’m sorry to report that this was one time Yelp let me down. Not only was the Bloody Mary VERY standard, the food here left a lot to be desired and the bartenders on duty weren’t very friendly.

During my visit, I sat alone at the bar and it took what seemed like forever to get the bartender to notice me…while two other bartenders played Photo Hunt right next to me.

The only thing this Bloody Mary and place had going for it was the price tag and the salted rim. Cross it off the list. Next!

Headed to Houston’s to meet up with yet another friend. A nice restaurant for sure, we were just here for drinks. Of course, I used this as an opportunity to try their Bloody Mary:

Houston’s? We have a problem.

I was really disappointed in this one. It had one lonely, floating lime…. and no ice. This is a place you’ll have to stick to wine. Yikes.
