In researching the best Bloody Marys in Pittsurgh, we were pointed toward Meat and Potatoes, which features a legendary Bloody Mary Bar on Sundays.

Fortunately, we were in town on a Sunday and we were able to swing by and check it out. For just $7, this is an absolute steal!

First, you choose your infused vodka. As you can see below, there are many options.Meat and Potatoes Bloody Mary Bar

Start with your flavored vodka, a blank slate!

Next, you get in line. The good folks at Meat and Potatoes have dedicated one whole side of their bar to fixin’s… everything from hot sauces and spices to cheeses, meats, seafood and olives galore:

We tried to take a panoramic view to do it justice.

MIX: House, with choice of infused vodka

CHASER: None offered

FIXIN’S: See photos! We were a bit overwhelmed, but in, like, a really good way.

PRICE: $7

This is hands down one of the best build-your-own bloody mary bars we’ve ever experienced. They seem to have thought of everything. We were very impressed. Here’s our finished product:

Our only gripe? Wish we had a bigger glass!

The food here was also top notch, although truth be told, we made our bloody into a meal in and of itself! Great brunch menu and we even returned for dinner, which was excellent as well.

Do yourself a favor and check out Meat and Potatoes the next time you’re in the ‘Burgh!

As we’ve said before, no part of the country produces Bloody Marys quite like the Midwest and the ballparks are no exceptions.

The Minnesota Twins previously have had Bloodys garnished with pizza and sliders, but new this year is the “Cluck and Moo” Bloody Mary, which includes a chicken wing, celery, blue and cheddar cheeses, a pepperoni stick, a pepperoni and an olive… plus the moo: a bacon cheeseburger slider.

MIX: Unspecified, but looked like a bottled mix.

CHASER: A mini can of Bud light

FIXIN’S: See above!

PRICE: $23

The price is steep, but considering all that you get with this bloody mary AND the fact that it is at the ballpark, it’s not completely outrageous. You could have one of these bad boys and be set for the game–you’ve got your snack and your beverages!

Definitely something to try once if you’re a bloody mary fan… just be prepared to be stopped by other baseball fans asking you to take a photo of this unique treat!

While waiting to board a recent flight, we stopped in for lunch at the Pizzeria Piccola inside General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

While we dined a on a personal pan pizza, we also decided to try one of their bloody marys… We’re not sure what it is about airports and airplanes and bloodies, but they somehow seem to go hand in hand.

MIX: Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Loaded Bloody Mary Mix, with Hickory Liquid Smoke

CHASER: None offered

FIXIN’S: Olive, Pickle, Celery, Lemon, Lime

PRICE: $12.99

This Bloody Mary was quite delicious. We would definitely recommend getting to the airport extra early to allow time to get through security….as well as to check out Pizzeria Piccola!

We recently visited the Rooster Cafe in St. Louis, an excellent little breakfast spot where they have a few different bloodies from which to choose.

On this visit, we went with the House Bloody.

MIX: House

CHASER: None offered

FIXIN’S: Olives, pepperoncini, lemon

PRICE: $7

This Bloody Mary was quite flavorful. It hit the spot and went really well with our breakfast scramble. If you ever find yourself in downtown St. Louis, this is definitely a place to hit up. You can also choose from a Bloody Samurai, Bloody Bull, Bloody ‘ell and Bloody Ceasar, plus a Michelada.

There was just one problem: There are two sizes offered at the Rooster–small and large. We’re not sure why they even offer the smaller version, but maybe that’s just us!

We checked out the new Drink Wisconsinbly Pub in Walker’s Point. As the name suggests, everything here has a Wisconsin flair. And, since we’ve proven that the best Bloody Marys come from the Midwest, Wisconsin in particular, one would imagine a place like this would have a great one.

You would not be wrong.

Mix: Homemade

Chaser: yes

Fixin’s: Cheese, olive, sausage, lemon, lime

Price: $10

Sometimes on the weekend, they will have “Bloody Marys keep the glass” for $12, which would be worth it as this mason jar style glass is super cute. Wish we would’ve been there for that!

The food here is also very Wisconsin and very good. Think hearty, meaty, cheesy fare. We had a burger and fries, plus we got to pick our dipping sauce. There are currently five different sauces on the menu and you can get a sauce flight if you’re so inclined. (We went with beer cheese!)

I recommend you check this place out and give their Bloody–and food–a try!

Back in Milwaukee, we checked out Camino and tried their Bloody Mary.

Camino

Mix: Homemade

Chaser:Yes

Fixin’s: Cheese, pickle, olive

Price: $8

We really enjoyed the taste of this Bloody Mary, as well as the fixin’s and the chaser. The food here was great, too.

I recommend you check this place out and give their Bloody a try!

On our way out of Phoenix, we stopped for a Bloody Mary at Sir Veza’s Taco Garage, located in Sky Harbor Airport.

Sir Veza Bloody Mary

Mix: Made with Clamato

Chaser: None

Fixin’s: Lime

Price: $8

While this Bloody Mary was nothing special, bloodies usually taste better at the airport for some reason. We enjoyed the flavored rim on this one and the fact that our bartender made it spicy for us. If you’re in this terminal for an early flight, give it a shot.

We visited a small sports bar called The Nest in Glendale, Arizona during our trip for Bloodies on a Saturday afternoon. I’m assuming it’s called “The Nest” because of its close proximity to the Arizona Cardinals stadium.

Mix: Homemade

Chaser: None–we ended up ordering our own beers as chasers.

Fixin’s:  Lime, two olives

Price: $?

This bloody mary was simple, yet flavorful. We especially enjoyed the salted rim.

While still in Arizona, we visited Frank & Albert’s at the Arizona Biltmore.

According to its website, the restaurant is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and Albert Chase McArthur and “artfully marries local cuisine with legendary architecture. Breakfast, lunch and dinner wait to be savored by those who appreciate a convivial atmosphere and inventive cuisine that demonstrates a fresh approach to traditional American dishes.”

On our visit, we just had time for a drink at the bar, so we ordered up-what else?-a Bloody Mary:

Frank and Albert's Bloody Mary

Mix: House-infused vodka made with Cipollini onions, Jalapeno & Fresno peppers; Demetri’s Bloody Mix

Chaser: None

Fixin’s:  Olive, Pepperoncini, Cheese, Sausage

Price: $10

This Bloody Mary was quite flavorful and very fresh. It reminded us of one of our favorite house-infused vodka places from back home-Red Dot.

The skewer of fixin’s was also a pleasant surprise.

We recently played golf at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, Arizona. Afterwards, we stopped in for a Bloody Mary at the Wildhorse Grille.

Mix: Homemade

Chaser: None offered.

Fixin’s: Lime, two olives

Price: $?

This Bloody Mary had good flavor and was refreshing after a long day of golf under the Arizona sun; however, it was pretty plain.
